What You’ll Do

As the Retail Store Manager, you’ll oversee daily operations, team performance, and customer experience for our flagship store, ensuring everything runs smoothly from open to close. You’ll lead by example, drive sales performance, and create an engaging environment where customers and employees alike feel valued.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operations & Workforce Planning
    • Develop, manage, and post weekly employee schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet business demands.
    • Accurately process and approve payroll in a timely manner.
    • Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, onboarding, and training to build a skilled, engaged, and customer-focused team.
    • Monitor labor costs, productivity, and staffing efficiencies to support operational and financial objectives.
    • Ensure adequate floor coverage and task delegation among Retail Store Associates to maintain service levels and store standards.
  • Team Leadership, Culture & Engagement

    • Lead by example, setting the tone for professionalism, service excellence, and operational discipline.
    • Conduct regular communication and performance feedback to motivate, engage, and develop associates, ensuring clarity of expectations and accountability.
    • Train and prepare associates to effectively support store events and promotions.
    • Partner with HR to support training and development while fostering a collaborative, high-engagement team culture built on respect, communication, and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Locker Holder Management
    • Manage the Locker Holder Rental Program with an annual goal of maintaining 100% capacity.
    • Coordinate with Merchandising on monthly promotions and exclusive offerings for locker holders.
    • Maintain accurate records, manage renewals, and deliver timely communications to ensure a premium experience for locker members.
  • Inventory Management & Merchandising
    • Oversee all retail inventory to ensure accurate counts, proper rotation, minimal shrinkage, and fully stocked, visually appealing displays that drive sales.
    • Partner with E-Commerce and Merchandising teams to maintain alignment between retail and online channels, including supporting BOPIS (Buy Online, Pick Up In Store) initiatives.
    • Implement seasonal and promotional merchandising strategies that highlight key products and drive traffic.
  • Store Presentation & Maintenance
    • Maintain impeccable store appearance and cleanliness throughout all interior and exterior spaces.
    • Ensure daily servicing of entryways, patios, trash receptacles, and ashtrays to create a welcoming environment for customers.
    • Coordinate maintenance and repairs with Facilities to uphold brand standards and ensure a safe, polished environment.
  • Strategic Event Planning & Execution
    • Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of all retail store events, including vendor showcases, community partnerships, and seasonal promotions.
    • Collaborate weekly with Leaf (bar), Marketing, and Merchandising teams to align on event logistics, signage, displays, product inventory, and promotional assets.
    • Partner with local businesses and vendors to create unique in-store experiences that build customer loyalty and drive foot traffic.
  • Financial Oversight
    • Review and analyze monthly financial reports for Retail and Leaf operations with Leadership to identify performance drivers and trends.
    • Implement strategies to reduce controllable expenses without compromising service or operational standards.
    • Monitor sales performance, labor costs, and operational expenditures to meet profitability targets.
    • Take prompt corrective action when financial or operational results deviate from expectations.
